“Get to the bottom of it!”

“That’s really strange,” my landlady said when I told her the heater was still on, despite being set to zero. The heating technician couldn’t find any reason it would be on, so one idea to fix it was, “Well, I could just have an air conditioner installed.”
Oh, friend, how quickly do we give up on finding the real reason behind our problems, sadness, frustration, or even financial worries, and instead look for the "other" reason—one that’s often pointless, only fixing the problem temporarily or even causing new problems.🤔
Because what good would an air conditioner do if the heater keeps running? What good is it to drown your frustration with wine in the evening if you never address the real cause of your frustration?🫤
What good does it do to tell everyone, “I have no money, I’m poor,” but then refuse to take opportunities and do nothing to change your job situation?
Do you know what I mean, friend?
I recently had the privilege of meeting Siegfried Fietz and his son—both incredibly gifted musicians. They told me how their publisher initially refused to release "Von guten Mächten" ("By Gentle Powers"), even though Siegfried had just composed the melody for Bonhoeffer’s moving poem. It was almost thrown out completely: "There’s no way to release this song," they said at the time.
But instead, he got to the bottom of it, hearing the Holy Spirit speaking: “Keep going with this exact song!” And he did—independently. It became not only a hit but, more importantly, a BLESSING to others.
friend, I ask you today—from my heart—to get to the bottom of what’s troubling you. Don’t just look for a surface-level solution that doesn’t make sense. Remember:
“He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful…” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9, NIV)
Act with wisdom while God gives you the strength to do so!
Quick fixes are human, they fade away—true freedom is liberating, here to stay!
You are a miracle!
