Get up!
What is it that made you stop believing that God could ever use you, friend?
Is it something you did? Or something that someone did to you?
Let me quote T.D. Jakes out of his book Crushing: “Crushing places reveal that there is more to our lives than we had planned.”
I was twenty one when a sunny afternoon turned into my worst nightmare… as someone put knockout drops into my drink and raped me.
I remember running away from home, too ashamed to face my family, thinking: “This is all your fault. You provoked it after all…” These lies caused me to run… to run away from the truth that could have helped me straight away.
Instead of singing in church on Easter, I was hiding in the last row and I remember the pastor saying: “No matter what you have done, no matter how far you’ve run, it’s time for you to start singing a brand new song!”
Singing? No! I had given up on that the afternoon it happened… how could God ever use me and my voice, again?
But, friend, that day I made the most important decision. While feeling dirty, while feeling broken, while feeling hopeless.
I got up and walked up to the cross, sobbing like a child, asking God to heal me!
And He did! Not only that. Today He’s using this testimony to heal broken lives:
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20 NKJV)
And, friend, no matter how far you’ve run, it’s time for you to start singing a brand new song! I would love to pray for that:
“Heavenly Father, today I pray for healing and restoration for friend; just as you did for me! May friend experience what it means to be healed and loved by You! What it means to be FREE to move forward! In Jesus Name, Amen.”
I hope my song “You’re worth it” encourages you today!
