God can change times and seasons

Publication date Mar 28, 2021

It just struck me that I’m fed up with this season of COVID-19, lockdown, and political mess. It hasn’t been fun at all. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’ve tried to get the most out of this trying season, but let’s face it—the world is going crazy. I’ve been saying this a lot lately: “the world is going crazy, but I’m not.”

friend, do you feel the same way? Have you chosen to stay sane, sound, and fearless?

Paul told his padawan (protégé) in the faith, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV)

I read a text the other day that made me laugh: “If someone is driving you crazy, it’s because you’ve given that person the keys.” I love that statement, and it’s so true. You and I get to change the way we feel, make decisions, and act. Happiness is a choice, anger is a choice, and letting people drive you crazy is a choice.

friend, you get to choose your life, but God can change the seasons and times. He can change everything in a split second. “‘He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.’” (Daniel 2:21, NIV) Wow! I’m going to trust God to quickly turn around this COVID-19 disaster. An old friend once told me, “When you’re going through hell, don’t stop!”

friend, don’t stop making plans, loving people, and hugging those you love. Get ready to build a new business or career. Help the poor and the elderly.

Jesus said, “‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.’” (Matthew 5:14, NIV) So please let your light shine in the days to come. Politicians often act in fear, but you and I can act in faith.

Because you are a miracle.
