How are you?
I wanted to know how my friends on Instagram were doing, so I started a poll with the simple question, "How are you?" What do you think the response was? It made me sad to read that a third of my friends were doing poorly! The reason: "Something is missing in my life."
I remember my childhood. We lived in a high-rise building, and I didn't have my own room. There was food on the table, and we went to McDonald's once a year (which was an absolute highlight).
Did I lack anything? No! Not by a long shot! I had more than enough, and I chose to see it that way. Do you know what I mean, friend? If we want to see that we have more than enough, we'll see it!
So often, we see what we wish we had or what we lack. We see what others have. But do we ask ourselves whether it makes them happy or not? Perhaps we are the happier ones.
The Bible promises us that "...those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing." (Psalm 34:10, NLT)
friend, I didn't have much as a child, yet I had so much more than many others. I wouldn't change anything about it. Today, there's still much that I don't have, much that I dream about, but I see what I do have. And that's why I don't feel like I'm missing anything I need to be happy!
I'd like to tell you something...I lack nothing because I know that God is eager to give me what I long for! The same is true for you. :-) He just asks us to rejoice in Him, be thankful, and trust!
"Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust Him, and He will help you." (Psalm 37:4-5, NLT)
Isn't that delightfully relaxing? friend, now that you've heard that, how would you answer the question, "How are you?"
You are a miracle!
