“How’s your ego?”

“Don’t they know who we are?”I was backstage at an open-air festival, waiting for my turn to perform, when another artist got incredibly upset. We, and I agree with this, had been treated disrespectfully and the other artist was upset 😠
But that kind of thing doesn’t bother me anymore, friend. I can live with it because I know that I’m not the source of my success; I’m simply a tool of God, dependent on His grace. I know that my “success” is completely dependent on God.If He says, “it’s over now,” then it will be over. But not because He wants to punish me, but because I believe He has something new in store for me. Until then, I “endure” being mistreated, ignored, and hurt while I wait “behind the scenes” for my performance. Believe me, friend, I’ve been through it all.
But I won’t waste my energy insisting on my rights or what I deserve, when it’s really about the people “out there”—in front of the stage! 🎤
You know, that’s also a trick of the devil, getting you to waste the energy you need to share God’s love on things like anger and frustration.Pride will always take away your ability to speak the truth 🤯And that’s why I understand what it says in Colossians 3: “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Colossians 3:23 NLT) And, friend, as soon as we react with, “Don’t they know who I am?” we’re investing our energy in the wrong thing: the preservation of our pride. But God wants us to learn from how David handled it. He said, “I have calmed and quieted my soul.” (Psalm 131:2 ESV)
friend, where do you need to calm your soul and remind yourself that this isn’t about you but about what God wants? Where do you need to invest your energy in calming your soul instead of a “counterattack”?
You are a miracle!
