Jesus took a step back, too… 😉

You know, sometimes serving isn’t all that easy. And I’m sure you’ve experienced that too. Because the moment you start serving, you quickly realize—it doesn’t really stop. 🤭
For example, my parents and my brother started a small group (you can too, by the way—see the P.S. for details), and it grew unexpectedly fast. It became such a blessing, but it also meant more serving than they originally planned.
Because as soon as you start serving people—giving them your time and attention—they’ll experience something they’re not used to: “I feel seen.” And they’ll start opening up… sharing their stories… bringing others with them…
And believe me, that is something SO JOYFUL and SO FULFILLING. 😍
Still—and Jesus showed us this Himself—one thing is important: Learn to set boundaries. You don’t need to rush from one person to the next.
Even Jesus wasn’t available to everyone all the time. He understood the importance of pulling away at the right moment. As you can read in Mark: “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” (Mark 1:35 NLT)
Even Jesus wasn’t constantly “serving.” He knew when to withdraw.
Picture it: His sweaty, anxious disciples finally find Him and stressfully say, “Everyone is looking for you!” (Mark 1:37 NLT)
And yet… Jesus didn’t go back to the crowd. He moved on. Jesus wasn’t driven by the demands of people, but led by the will of the Father.
And that’s today’s reminder for you: First of all—THANK YOU for serving. Thank you for loving.
But don’t be driven by service, be led by love. By the love of the Father. The love that is also meant for you—before you serve.
…And maybe it’s time for you, too, to return to that quiet place so you can move forward again. 😉
You are a miracle!
