When love hurts—and still gives…

Publication date Nov 20, 2025

When I asked my father how it’s possible to still be so in love after 50 years of marriage, he said: “I love your mother on an even deeper level now. It’s a soul-love.” 🥹❤️

Wow, that left me speechless for a moment. And at the same time, it made me think: Could it be that God doesn’t just love us the way we imagine?

We tend to think: I have to be attractive to be loved. I have to fit into someone’s picture of me, look a certain way, act the way he or she expects…

But God? God loves us even when we don’t please Him.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son...” (John 3:16 NIV)

He loves us even while we do things that don’t fit into His picture. And here’s the key: deep down, He created us exactly as He desired.

He loves what He sees—because He sees deeper.

Yes, maybe today we often live with an image of ourselves that no longer reflects who He created us to be. Maybe we’ve changed, drifted away from His original design—but God still sees the original in us. The original He created and intended.

“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16 NLT)

And because He loves us so much, He didn’t pull away. On the contrary, God reconciled Himself with us through Jesus Christ.

He took the first step to restore our relationship with Him.

Because what He loves is not just our outward life, not just our body—it’s our soul. Yes, it’s a love on a much deeper level—it’s a soul-love.

Let’s thank Him together today: “Thank You, Father, that Your love for me goes so incredibly deep—deeper than I’ve ever been able to comprehend. Help me to see that You look at me with love. With nothing but love. And I love You back, so, so much. Amen.”

Amen.

You are a miracle!
