Have you asked about God’s plans yet?

Publication date Jan 1, 2026

Well, hello, my friend, and welcome to a brand new year—2026.

I often start the year by making resolutions. And, they often lead to disappointment. I’ll make all sorts of plans to get to the gym, eat better, worry less, pray more, journal more, prioritize more, serve more—and pretty soon I’m exhausted by my own list!

Eventually, I find myself discouraged when, just a few weeks later, I’m back in my old patterns, but feeling a little worse about myself because I wasn’t able to follow through.

I wonder what would happen if, before we begin setting goals or making plans, we stopped and laid them before God and asked for His perspective? I believe that true success in anything actually starts in submission and surrender—laying those plans before the Lord is how we begin to establish His rule over our lives.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3, NIV)

So, before you begin a long list of resolutions that may or may not cause disappointment, what if we started this year by checking in with Jesus and making sure that everything we’ve planned is actually a part of His plan?

Don’t just invite God into something you’ve already conceived. Give Him the pen and invite Him to write the story.

I am so excited to be spending this year with you on A Miracle Every Day. My prayer each day is that we will follow God’s plan, because He has miraculous stories just waiting to be written.

Let’s pray together.

Father God, we give You this amazing year of 2026. We can’t see into the future, but You are already there. So, Lord, help us to surrender the pen as You write the amazing story that will be our life in the coming year. We pray these things in the power of Jesus’ name. Amen.

Never forget, my friend—you are a miracle.
