Do you have enough nourishment?
As we head into 2026 together, let me paint a picture.
Can you imagine how foolish it would be to eat one meal on Sunday morning and believe that would sustain you for an entire week? It would be crazy to think that we could take in enough nourishment and nutrition in just one hour of eating to keep us satisfied for the next six days.
Unfortunately, that’s what so many of us do when we go to church. We expect our pastor and church staff to give us enough spiritual nourishment to carry us from one Sunday to another. But the reality is that it just can’t happen.
As we begin this new year, I want to encourage you to stay rooted in the Word of God. The truth is, you can’t thrive spiritually without nourishment from Scripture, which we need every day.
“Blessed is the one whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” (Psalm 1:2, NIV)
Without the strength that comes from the living Word of God, we can’t accomplish on our own. And I don’t know about you, but my strength varies and wavers often. God has given us His Word as our daily bread—a source of strength and nourishment to sustain us through trials and temptations.
But we have to ingest it. We have to allow it into our system through a regular, sustained, daily commitment so that we can continue to grow strong and flourish.
My friend, this is my challenge to you today: let God’s Word be your daily bread, not your yearly resolution.
Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for Your Word, and I pray that as we begin this new year, we would make a commitment—a covenant with You—to allow Your Word to soak into our souls and give us daily strength, day after day after day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Never forget, my friend—you are a miracle.
