Eyes up
As my plane lifted off from Seattle and headed toward Houston that morning, I was amazed at how my perspective changed the higher we climbed.
Back on the ground, the airport appeared incredibly chaotic. There were people, baggage handlers, and security personnel moving in every direction. And then, as we lifted off, I noticed hundreds of workers loading luggage and planes moving around in patterns that, to me, seemed meaningless.
But the higher we flew, the more peaceful I became. As the busy city fell from my view, I began to notice patterns in the road system below. Everything was orderly and neatly arranged in small squares, especially the plains of the central U.S. From the ground, things looked chaotic—but from above, they began to form patterns and systems that made perfect sense.
My friend, God can lift our vision so we can see life from His eternal perspective.
When we glimpse our lives from God’s view, this is what I’ve noticed: mountains become molehills, and fear can be transformed into peace.
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2, NIV)
So, my challenge to you today is this: look above all the chaos in your life, and realize that God has systems and patterns in place—for your safety, for your future, for your good, and even for your miracles.
Never forget, my friend—you are a miracle.
