Drop the anchor! ⚓️
We often think we’re so smart, but when it really matters, we’re not—right?
We humans believe we have a solution for everything. We develop new medicines, invent countless things to make life easier, and work hard on self-fulfillment…
…and yet, when it truly counts, we don’t rely on the One for whom all things are possible. Why is that so hard for us? When really, we would only have to do one thing: throw the anchor into the stormy sea! ⚓️
Imagine you’re in a small boat out on the open sea. The waves are raging, the wind is howling, and the sky is dark. Everything around you feels chaotic, loud, and unpredictable. The boat rocks back and forth, and you wonder whether you’ll ever reach the shore safely.
You fight with all your strength to stay in control… But what if everything you are simply isn’t enough?
To survive, you must ask for help from the One who died for you.
And that means doing one more thing with intention and courage: dropping the anchor! The anchor of faith!
Yes, maybe you’ve done this a thousand times before, and you think, “What did it ever change?” But honestly, what has it changed to keep trying on your own for so long? 🤷♀️
And when we look at the verse—“Test everything; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21, ESV)—was it really good to live your life without God?
For me, the answer is a loud NO. I would never want to live without Him again. Because it wasn’t until I dropped that anchor—and then waited for it to dig firmly into the ground—that I found the stability I so desperately needed.
The anchor doesn’t always change the storm right away, but it changes how you endure it. The anchor stays firm—unseen—but UNSHAKABLE.
Will you drop that anchor again today?
You are a miracle!
