Please don’t throw it around, friend

Publication date Jan 20, 2026

“Déborah, what do you think about everything happening right now?”

Lately, I’ve been asked this question about my opinions more often than I can count. And yes—it makes me sad every single time I see people attacking one another just because they think differently.

The Bible says: “...this will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord…” (Ephesians 4:13, NLT)

The term mature refers to the ability to think independently, to make responsible and thoughtful decisions. That’s exactly what God desires.

But having your own opinion doesn’t mean you throw it at everyone and everywhere. As it continues in Ephesians: “I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” (Ephesians 4:1, NIV)

In the same chapter where Paul emphasizes the importance of growing into maturity, he also highlights God’s love: “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” (Ephesians 4:15, NIV)

IN LOVE, we are to live out the truth the Holy Spirit reveals to us. If I want to share truth with others, I must first model His love. Period.

And this love doesn’t just throw its opinion around. It is patient. It prays for others. It forgives. It may weep before God. It pours out its heart to Him.

I, Déborah, have an opinion. And you know what? Sometimes I even pray about my own opinion, asking the Holy Spirit for clarity—and then I realize that my answer doesn’t match God’s answer at all. And then I let go—and allow myself to be corrected.

Let the Holy Spirit speak into your life, and you will live as a mature Christian.

We all have a lot to learn. The beautiful part is: we can start today.

Thank you for allowing us to share this journey together. Thank you for wanting to live this love—because then we’re already two in this walk.

You are a miracle!
