God is closer to you than you think

Publication date Feb 24, 2026

I want to pause today and reflect on two verses from Psalm 61 with you. Here, David says:

"From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge.” (Psalm 61:2-3, ESV

“Yeah, I know that one,” you might be thinking. But do you really know—and understand—how to get through a moment like that?

Let’s break it down:

"From the end of the earth I call to you." David felt far from God. That’s something we can relate to—feeling distant from Him.

"When my heart is faint." We all know that feeling of exhaustion and weakness, don’t we?

“Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Here it gets serious. There’s NO way out except for God to intervene and do something David can’t do—find protection to stay safe. Is this what you’re experiencing right now?

“For you have been my refuge.”

This wasn’t just “any sentence” David spoke—he said it because he believed!

David knew the feeling of “I can’t sense God right now,” yet he still trusted that God was there and would fight for him.

Even when God feels far away, He is still near you!

Let’s pray this verse together and believe it with our hearts:

"From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge.” (Psalm 6:2-3, ESV

Amen.

You are a miracle!
