Prince of Peace… What?
Do you understand what it means when you read about Jesus being called the “Prince of Peace”? (Isaiah 9:6)
Let’s be honest, it’s a strange phrase. At the very least, it’s not a word we normally use in everyday conversation. So what does it actually mean: a Prince of Peace? And what does that have to do with your normal, worry-filled daily life?
Let me break it down for you today, because it’s so important that we understand this.
A Prince of Peace is not a random title. A prince is someone who rules, who carries responsibility, who determines what prevails.
When Jesus is called the Prince of Peace, it means He does not rule through power, pressure, or control, but through PEACE. Wow!
Now you might be thinking, “Not even close… I don’t feel any of that peace right now.” And that’s the key point.
This peace is not what we often think it is. Biblical peace does not mean everything becomes quiet. It does not mean problems disappear or worries suddenly stop. Biblical peace—shalom— means being carried. Living in relationship.
Jesus, your Prince of Peace, does not rule by promising you a worry-free life. Instead, He says: “You can bring your worries to Me, because I will carry them for you” (see 1 Peter 5:7, my paraphrase).
Jesus is your Prince of Peace.
And today I want to ask this question: Where are you trying to play the prince yourself? Trying to rule, carry, and decide everything on your own?
Believe me, there is a reason Jesus was given the title Prince. We would completely fail if we had to carry all our worries ourselves. But Jesus can. Not through force — through peace. 🕊️
That is the peace He wants to offer you today. Because He IS the Prince of Peace.
Bring your worries to Him. Lay them down and begin your day free from carrying them alone!
Today I say: Thank You, Jesus, our Prince of Peace!
And of course:
You are a miracle 😍!
