God Is Still Holding You ❤️

Publication date Mar 18, 2026

Do you feel overlooked? Maybe even written off?

When I arrived here in Africa last year, my sponsor child ran into my arms and wouldn’t let go. Over and over she whispered in my ear, “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for loving me anyway…” I simply wanted to be there for her. ❤️

Let me tell you what happened to cause this reunion. At 17, she had become pregnant, something that carries severe consequences in her culture. It can mean being forced to leave your parents’ home—being cast out. Excluded.

And suddenly, your already uncertain future becomes even more fragile. If the father doesn’t marry you, chances are no one else will—not with a child. To put it plainly: you are considered the shame of the family.

That’s why there were tears. That’s why there was that embrace.

During that week, our conversations ran so deep! Despite everything, I saw a young girl who had suddenly grown up, even in her faith! She had understood a simple truth:

Even if the world turns against me, God remains for me.

And then she said a sentence that changed everything: “Déborah, I’ve made mistakes. But I’m going to use them to help other women.”

She had understood even more: God is for me! And He wants to write history through me.

Now, one year later, we are back. Because of her story, we are now supporting mother-child homes. I, who don’t even have children of my own, never felt personally connected to this need before. Now I do. And only because of that, I truly understand the urgency.

The Bible says. “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:22-23, NIV)

Amen. Amen. Amen!

This is true for my sponsor child because through her story, many other women are now being helped.

And it is true for you, too.

Rejected in the eyes of people can mean chosen in the hands of God. God wants to bring life through your story.

You are a miracle!
