GOD would never do THAT…
“What can I do if the sheep falls?” 🐑
Imagine if God—your Shepherd—said that when you stumble and fall again.
I actually heard a shepherd say those words when two of his sheep had fallen and needed help. For one, help came too late. For the other, just in time.
For a moment I felt a little guilty when the shepherd said: “There are so many people standing around watching. Someone could’ve just climbed over the fence and helped…”
Hmm, he had a point. But the people really were helpless and didn’t even know what to do.
First the question: “Maybe it’s normal for them to lie like that?”
And then: “How do you even get a sheep back on its feet?”
And isn’t that exactly what sometimes disappoints us about other people too?
“Don’t they see how badly I’m doing?That I’m lying here hurting?They could help, couldn’t they…?”
But often they simply don’t know how. And that’s why I’m so deeply in love with our Shepherd.
He doesn’t say, “What can I do if you’ve fallen again?”
He doesn’t look away either. Because He knows how to lift a fallen sheep back up.
And He reaches out—not roughly, not annoyed like that shepherd—but calmly, gently, and full of love. ❤️
These words are so strongly on my heart for you today:
Where people watch you fall, God Himself will lift you back up.
Take these words personally and rest in them. No matter what is going on in your life right now, even if people simply stand by and watch—your God will rise up FOR YOU.
You don’t have to explain to God how you’re going to get back on your feet.
He already knows.
And He says: “I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.” (Ezekiel 34:15-16, NIV)
You are a miracle!
