God desires something from you…
What’s the first thing you do when you receive wonderful news? You tell someone! And what’s the first thing you do when you get bad news? Exactly—you tell someone.
God placed that desire for communication within us, and not without reason. He wants to communicate with you, just as He has wanted fellowship with humanity from the very beginning. That’s why He created us; He wanted to be with us.
Right from the beginning, in the time of Adam and Eve, we read: “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.” (Genesis 3:8 NIV)
God was simply there. And do you think Adam and Eve were already struggling with raising children and asking God for advice? No, they didn’t even have any yet. 😂
Do you think they talked to God about how to pay their bills? Not that either. Everything had been given to them. They weren’t dealing with marriage problems or other worries.
God was simply with them—because He wanted to be with them.
And God wants to be with you simply because He wants to be with you.
I have to ask you this question: Do you want to be with God, simply because you want to be with Him?
Please don’t feel bad if your answer isn’t a clear “yes” right now. Maybe you just haven’t experienced what it’s like to truly be with God, or how beautiful it is to spend time with Him.
So here’s my encouragement to you: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father…” (Matthew 6:6 NIV)
What will happen next will answer that question for you personally. It will help you grow a deeper desire to experience more of His presence.
You’ll see.
You are a miracle!
