THIS is the purpose of today ...
It was still early. Very early. And yet, I wanted to begin my day living out these words:
“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” (Psalm 113:3, NIV) https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.113.3.NIV
So I sat down at my little prayer corner, a space I recently created in my home. A place that helps me quiet my heart and reminds me what I want to intentionally make time for:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30, NIV) https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MRK.12.30.NIV
I don’t pray there for hours. Honestly, most days I only have a few minutes. But I’ve learned something powerful:
When you give God a little of your time, He prepares your heart for the day ahead!
Yes, those few minutes in the morning often lift the weight of everyday worries from my heart.
That morning, for example, I only prayed a very short prayer. Just three sentences. And I want to share them with you now. Because even though they are simple, they carry so much depth when you truly think about what they mean.
So if this is your desire too, pray this prayer with me today. Maybe even more than once. Slowly. Intentionally. Until it truly reaches your heart.
Because we are called to love God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength (see Mark 12:30). And when I look at my own life… I know I still have a lot of room to grow. 😉
Let’s pray:
“I place this day into Your hands because it already belongs to You anyway.
I exchange my plans for Yours.
Yes, I want to pay attention to the voice of the Holy Spirit today.”
May He meet you in a fresh way today, because yes — HE is the purpose of our lives!
You are a miracle!
