Exposure and Truth
I remember a moment as a kid when I had clear instructions from my Mom not to have a cookie because it was too close to dinner time. I had it anyway. When she asked me about it, I feigned innocence, but the chocolate on my face told a very different story.
One of the realities of disobedience is that it eventually comes into the light. We can hide, justify, and delay—but truth has a way of surfacing.
In Saul’s story, his disobedience was exposed. Even though he was told to sacrifice the sheep and cattle of the Amalekites, his sin finds him out when this happens: “When Samuel reached him, Saul said, ‘The Lord bless you! I have carried out the Lord’s instructions.’ But Samuel said, ‘What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?’” (1 Samuel 15:13-14, NIV)
This revelation was not done to shame him, but to confront him with the truth. God uses exposure as an opportunity for correction and restoration. The Bible says:
“For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” (Luke 8:17, NIV)
This verse reminds me that living in truth is always the better path. I don’t have to maintain a hidden life. God already sees everything, and He invites me to live openly before Him.
Exposure can feel uncomfortable, but it is also merciful. It interrupts the path of destruction and offers a chance to turn back.
Today, I choose honesty before God. I don’t want to hide behind appearances or excuses. I want a life marked by transparency and integrity.
I want to challenge you to make the same choice. Let’s pray together:
God, thank You for loving me enough to bring truth into my life. Help me to live openly before You without fear. When I am tempted to hide or justify sin, give me the humility to confess and turn back to You. Let truth shape my life in every way. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Never forget my friend,
You are a miracle!
