What Will Remain?

If a major earthquake struck today, what would be left of everything you own?

Just picture it for a moment, even though I wouldn't wish it on any of us. An earthquake hits your neighborhood. Everything is in ruins. The car you just bought is completely destroyed. We won’t even talk about your house. Even that new outfit you ordered online never makes it to your door.

What remains in that moment?

Your neighbors. Your family. What remains is what has always mattered most to God: people. ❤️

Sometimes we lose sight of that because we're so focused on, “I still want to accomplish this,” or “I need to get that done.”

We forget that God has always been about people, because we're often focused on ourselves. 🫣

The truth is, one day everything will pass away. I didn’t want to say it right away, but there will be a great shaking. Let me share the passage that speaks about it:

“‘Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.’ The words ‘once more’ indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.” (Hebrews 12:26–27) 

Passages like this are not meant to make us afraid. They are meant to remind us of what truly matters. Of what cannot be shaken: love.

Because right after this, Hebrews says: “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.” (Hebrews 13:1)

Nothing should interfere with that love—not even the pursuit of our own happiness, success, or ambitions. 

I know that isn’t always easy. But love is what REMAINS.

And it is what matters deeply to God. One day, the world may be shaken and pass away,but love will remain. And in that love, the Father will welcome into eternity those who are already living in that love today.

You are a miracle!
