Speak Better to Live Better! đ€«
âDid you just see them? They are so unfriendlyâŠ!â
Iâm sure those words would have come out of my mouth if just a few hours earlier I hadnât written a text for âA Miracle Every Day,â where God pointed me to a Bible verse I would have preferred to skip. đ đ€
âDo everything without grumbling or arguing ⊠Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.â (Philippians 2:14-15)
I was at a hotel in Bali, and a group of Germans had just arrivedâwhich is actually quite rare there. I happily smiled at them during breakfast, but instead of a friendly reaction, I got that typical âwhat does she want from us?â look back.
And now, at the pool, I was talking with a man I had met a few days earlier when this German couple walked byâand I was just about to say, âDid you see them? They are so unfriendlyâŠâ when thankfully that Bible verse came back to my mind just in timeâŠ
Yes, yes, I can be like that too, haha. And arenât we all âlike thatâ until we decide to be different?
And honestly, even though the verse came to mind, I still thought: âHa, I could still say it. It would actually be kind of fun to have something like that to talk about⊠then he would agree with me, and and andâŠâ You know the game
It costs something not to speak badly about others.
But that is exactly what God will bless!
The Bible is very clear that the wide hold their tongues! (see Proverbs 21:23).
Clear and straightforward. Do you know what helps?
Sometimes biting your tongue means first taking a good look at yourselfâŠ
Not easyâbut helpful. đ
Where could you âspeak betterâ in order to âlive betterâ?
You are a miracle!
