Made Up – or Makeup-Free? 💄👀

Publication date Oct 19, 2026

“Déborah, it annoys me when you wear so much makeup on TV. I can’t really listen to you. I like you much better without makeup, like you sometimes show yourself on Instagram.”

Wow. I wasn’t expecting that in that moment. I had never seen this woman before.

Do you know what went through my mind first? I thought: Do you have any idea HOW MUCH WORK all of this takes? A simple thank-you would have felt really good right now…

And that brings me to something I want to highlight today because we can all be so incredibly quick to judge sometimes (myself included!) But I can tell you this about myself:

Whether I’m wearing makeup or not, my heart remains the same.❤️

So really, the only thing that changes is the person looking at me at any given moment, not me.

So if someone can only listen to me when I look the way they want me to look, does that really have anything to do with me? 😉

I think we all know both sides:

WE HAVE been judged unfairly. And, WE HAVE judged others unfairly.

That’s why we shouldn’t let someone else’s appearance distract us. Instead, we should always ask ourselves: How can I REALLY recognize someone’s motives?

Jesus gives us—as always—a really good answer. He says: “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” (John 7:24, NIV)

“Correctly” means extending to others the grace we have experienced ourselves. And wherever we see lack, or even faults, praying for those people.

Where might you need to do that today? Who have you judged without really knowing more about them?

Well, now you know what to do today. 🥰

Extend grace and pray!

You are a miracle!
