Out of the Line of Fire! šŸ™‹

Publication date Nov 1, 2026

I’ve made quite a few mistakes in my life. 🫣

I sometimes think back to the days when I was walking red carpets… There are truly so many temptations waiting for you if you’re not prepared.

So how do we avoid falling into the trap?

The trap of temptation. The trap of doubt. The trap of guilt. The trap of failure.

I could sum it up even more simply by saying, ā€œthe enemy’s trap,ā€ because that’s really what it comes down to.

You don’t want to fail, but the enemy does want you to. And when you do, he gets a grip on you mentally and emotionally, so it becomes harder for you to live out God’s calling for your life.

That’s why I can’t repeat this verse often enough: ā€œStay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.ā€ (1 Peter 5:8)

So now that I travel so much, what do I do differently to avoid falling into those traps?

Because I’m still human, after all—along with everything that entails!

Let me share a little trick with you.

There’s one sentence I try to remember wherever I go, and I’d love to share this sentence with you. It goes like this:

No matter what room I walk into,I will always look to You (God).

Take it with you into this age full of distractions.Take it to work, where your boss sometimes really gets on your nerves.Take it to the gym, where you’re so easily tempted to compare yourself to others.Yes, even take it to that place where you might be tempted to be unfaithful…

Keep saying this sentence over and over:

No matter what room I walk into,I will always look to You (God).

…and then let Jesus make you strong in your weakness, for His ā€œpower is made perfect in weaknessā€ (see 2 Corinthians 12:9)

Whoever looks to Jesus is always looking in the right direction. šŸ˜‰

You are a miracle!
