More than enough!

Publication date Jun 11, 2022

Hello, friend! My prayer for you as we begin today is that Jesus will be your everything! I pray your heart will be filled with miraculous joy as you say “thanks” to God for all He has done and mend your relationships with the word “sorry.” I pray that you will say “no” to yourself today and in doing so, say “yes” to all that Jesus has planned for you. I pray that you’ll ask God for “help” when you need His understanding and power.

friend, my prayer for you is that starting now, you’ll use a brand new word: “enough.” The world around us is obsessed with the opposite of “enough”—it wants MORE! More money, more food, more security, more ease, more comfort, and more technology! In short, we believe that when we have more, we will have all that we need. Yet, God tells us there is a word for anyone who makes it his/her aim to acquire more: God calls this person a FOOL. (see Luke 12:20, NIV)

There is a question that I’ve been asking myself recently: “When is enough…enough?” My answer presses deep within my soul when I consider:

Jesus can’t be all you need…until He is all you have.

When I have Jesus, I have MORE than enough for every aspect of my life! Jesus alone is my great treasure, and He alone is my greatest blessing. When we each have this mindset, it allows us to pursue treasure that has eternal value instead of the temporary treasures that the world offers.

friend, are you content that Jesus is enough and that all you have is a gift from Him? My friend, have you experienced true contentment? A clue to the true condition of your heart is how many times you have used the word “thanks” today. The Apostle Paul said to his protégé Timothy in 1 Timothy chapter 1:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (1 Timothy 6:6-10, NIV)

Money alone is not evil. Whether we have a little or a lot, money can become an enemy of our contentment. When we fall in love with money more than we’re in love with Jesus, we never find that miraculous place of godly contentment.

Today, let’s agree with Jesus: enough is enough because He is more than enough!

Let’s pray together…“Jesus, You are more than enough. I choose today to thank You for all that You have given me. Help me to be content with all of Your blessings and to know when enough is enough. YOU are my greatest treasure, and I am so grateful. Amen.”

You are a miracle!
