Personal Miracles from King
Thank you for joining me for another miracle! I love the heart of Jesus as he shared that day in the synagogue in Nazareth:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19, NIV)
Now, listen to this amazing miracle story from our brother King who shares the passion of Jesus for setting the prisoner free!
"There are few groups of men who are as maligned and stereotyped as those who are current and former addicts and felons. These men, made in His image, hunger for change, healing and love. In 2016 God called me to serve them.
My current ministry involves preparing men who are incarcerated for reentry into society. It is truly miraculous that the state has approved our program. Those who choose to be involved in the spiritual track of our program have much better prospects for a changed life because they are choosing to let God change them from the inside out. My passion and prayer is that through our program, every man will have the miracle of a real relationship with Jesus when he leaves prison.
I have found that my relationship with the Lord affects the effectiveness of this ministry. I must practice my spiritual disciplines and be open to His feeding and pruning to produce fruit. One of my disciplines is reading Grant’s and Déborah’s devotions each day. They contribute to my continuing transformation so that others can see more and more of Him in me. In fact, 'A Miracle Every Day' has been leveraged by its use in my ministry. One especially impactful study has been Grant’s 'Named & Chosen.' I have done the complete study with a group in prison. I have developed a one-hour synthesized version for a devotion, and I have shared the concept with men struggling with their self-image.
It is amazing to watch a face lighten up, a demeanor change, the realization of hope sprout when a man sees himself as God sees him. Accepting the names God has for them gives these men the courage to face those who only see the stereotype and the desire to show who they really are – chosen, beloved, new creations."
