Rely on the Lord
Have you ever dreaded the future? Have you been afraid of COVID-19 or any other virus? Many people have wondered why I’m not afraid of the virus. Don’t get me wrong...I take a few precautions: I carry a mask around, sanitize my hands, respect some social distancing, and don’t shake hands quite yet.
I also take a few spiritual precautions as well. The Bible says, “Rely on the Lord! Be strong and confident! Rely on the Lord!” (Psalms 27:14, NET) God tells me to rely on Him twice in this verse. The word rely means to wait for, to look to, and to expect God to protect, move, heal, and save. Ultimately, I trust God to preserve me, heal me, or take me home.
friend, do you have faith that God can do that for you? Can you rely on Him a little more?
Another truth has kept me positive and fearless: I’ve been to the jungles of Africa, the slums of India, and the minefields of Rwanda. I’ve been surrounded by malaria, dengue fever, and countless other diseases, and yet I’m still here. God has proven Himself reliable all these years.
I kind of feel like David when he said, “'Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.’” (1 Samuel 17:36, NIV) Because David already had victories, he could face Goliath. Success tends to build more success and confidence.
This new 7-day series is all about the new confidence you will develop in Christ. friend, do you want to develop more confidence in God and yourself? I’m praying you will learn to rely on the Lord like never before because you are a miracle.
