Step out on the water...

Publication date Aug 21, 2025

Are you handy with tools?

I have to admit—I really admire people who can put together a piece of furniture with ease! 🛠️🧑‍🔧 Because I could never do that…

Well, have I ever actually tried? Nope. I just decided: “I can’t do that.” Who knows? Maybe there’s a hidden skill in me I’ll never discover—just because I never gave it a try.

There are things we’ll never know—simply because we don’t take the first step.

And honestly? That’s kind of sad, right? That’s why I love how Jesus constantly encourages us to take those kinds of new steps! Just look at the well-known story in Matthew 14, when Jesus walked on the water, and Peter thought He was a ghost!

Jesus didn’t say: “Hold on, I’ll come closer so you can see me better.” He also didn’t say: “Let me come get you, and then we can walk on the water together.” No—what He said matters so much for us today.

Jesus said: “Come!” (Matthew 14:29)

In other words: “Try it for yourself. Take the step yourself.” And let’s be clear—Peter had never walked on water before.

So what about you? Will you do it if God says to you today, “Try it for yourself. Take the step yourself,” even if you’ve never done it before?

Will you take the risk—will you experience something new?

And did you notice—Jesus didn’t say: “Peter, I know you’re afraid of water, and it’s really deep here. A shark might come after you, and your clothes will get soaked.”

Nope. He simply said: “Come!” (Matthew 14:29) Or, “Just do it!”

Jesus doesn’t point out the problems because He knows He is the solution.

Today it’s time to stop asking, “But what if…” and instead fix your eyes on Jesus, and start walking.

You are a miracle!
