The Good News of Christmas
Merry Christmas!! I hope and pray that you’ve found God’s presence during this Christmas season. I’ve noticed the stores are almost empty and some of the shelves are bare, but the music filling every mall and store has changed: it’s Christmas music, and I love it. Do you love Christmas like I do?
There are only two seasons that bring me great joy: the birth of Christ and His resurrection. These two landmarks of history always bring the Good News, which in turn affects our world. We desperately need to hear God’s Good News in every part of our lives.
We all know that the shepherds in the nativity story needed good news. They had lives filled with hardship, but everything changed when an angel appeared with this great announcement: “...‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’” (Luke 2:10, NIV)
friend, do you need a little good news today that you can hold on to after the Christmas season is over? I believe all of us need good news, but we’re not getting it from our media outlets or social networks. For some bizarre reason, the media constantly flashes extreme headlines that aren’t necessarily true. Are those in the media trying to sell or advertise something? Or are they trying to scare us out of our wits?
To be honest with you, I’ve had to limit my intake of what the media has to say and replace it with more of the Bible; more worship; more books that positively feed my brain; and more of the joyful revelation of Jesus, our Emmanuel, who came to be with us!
friend, there is good news that can fill your life and bring great joy. And it’s not only for today, Christmas Day, but for each and every day! The angel announced the amazing news that has brought peace, joy, and growth to billions of lives: “‘Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.’” (Luke 2:11, NIV)
Would you take a moment right now and choose to change the things that may have been controlling your emotions to the Good News of Jesus?
So Merry Christmas, friend! Invite the Savior to fill your life again, and allow Him to become your Messiah. Because you are a real miracle, and miracles get to enjoy (and share!) the fullness of the Good News, today and every day! ✨🎄
Always remember that God loves you beyond measure. You are His special treasure!
