The greatest trial of your life

Publication date Jun 22, 2021

When you move forward, you will face trials. Remember that most trials are not the work of God or the devil...they are just part of the journey. COVID and the steps that were taken to prevent more casualties has been one of the toughest trials I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot.

I’ve lived a great life, but the journey has been very hard at times. The tough start to our marriage, sickness, cancer, strokes, betrayals, theft, deception, and that’s just the start. It’s interesting that no matter what we’ve been through as a family, I’ve never been tempted to blame God.

I’ve met so many people who blame God for the trials of their lives. It’s quite sad to see the results of this perspective. Have you ever blamed God for sickness or family problems? As my mentor said, “we don’t live with the facts of our lives but the interpretation of the facts of our lives.” Do you know that your interpretations of life events lead to your feelings, then options, then choices, then actions, and then finally, they lead to your consequences? “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” (1 Peter 5:10, NKJV)

friend, if you believe God is to blame for all the bad in your life, then you will emotionally withdraw from God or build your life in fear. James says that God isn’t like that: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17, NKJV)

Your view of God will cause you to either misinterpret the bumps in your life journey or help you reinterpret the pain and find more strength. James also said, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” (James 1:2, NKJV).

friend, I’m asking the Holy Spirit to help you reinterpret the bad things that have happened to you. He’s not the cause—He’s the solution. Don’t forget that you are a miracle.
