This is not the end of your story, friend… 😊
Here is Melech’s story…
Have you ever had a really rough time in your life? I went through a time like this not too long ago.
We had run out of money and had nothing left to eat. I could see my daughter's ribs, and my wife's eyes languished for lack of food. I couldn't find any work, and I didn't know what to do. Driven by desperation, I hid with a friend on the road into town, with the idea of robbing the first person who passed by.
We held up a Jewish man. We didn't want to hurt him, but in the struggle, he hit his head on a rock. We didn't know whether he died or not because we hurried to take his horse, clothes, and belongings and get out of there as quickly as possible.
As we raced away, I nervously made a wrong move and fell off my horse, breaking my leg. I've always considered this to be a consequence of God's righteous judgment in my life. From that day on, I lived with the constant shame of having done such a terrible thing, and the question of whether or not that Jewish man survived tormented me daily. I could no longer work or cultivate my fields, so my family and I were doomed to starve to death.
But one day, Jesus appeared. His disciples had tilled and sowed our fields, and Jesus Himself invited us to dinner with food they had bought. I simply couldn't believe it: no one had ever shown such generosity to us…and without even knowing us!
That night, when I opened my heart and admitted what I'd done, I could see in Jesus' eyes that He already knew my story. Then He gave me the answer I so desperately needed: "He [the Jew you attacked] didn't die. Somebody came along and helped him. Melech, I know. I promise you. He did not die." There was no doubt: Jesus knew what He was saying. I began to weep, filled with relief and joy in knowing that this Jewish man was all right.
That's how my deliverance began, but it didn't stop there. The next morning, I woke up with my leg completely healed—Jesus had healed me! Never in my house had there been so many shouts of pure joy. I am now a new person, inside and out, and it's only because of Him.
My name is Melech, and I have been chosen by Jesus.
