“This won’t be a “typical Monday,” ! 🥳”

It was a Monday morning.

I had a lot on my plate, but was motivated to inspire the people following me on social media. I quickly thought of this verse: "Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Ephesians 6:7 NLT).

But have you ever looked at this verse in context, friend? It really frustrated me at first! 😤 Listen to this:

“Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ … Doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:5-8 NKJV)

My first thought was, “Phew, would I just ‘be nice’ if I were a servant while my master forced me to work?”

The instruction in Ephesians 6, however, needs to be viewed in the context of the time. In the Roman Empire, servitude was—unfortunately—NORMAL, and many Christians lived in a society that accepted such structures.

So, what God is really concerned about is how we should behave in our current situation—whatever that may look like. And this verse actually fits very well here: “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Ephesians 6:7 NLT

We live in a completely different time and place. If too much is being asked of us at work, we usually make that known loud and clear. We call in sick, we strike. At least we have the freedom to choose not to participate anymore.

But today, God challenges you: “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (Ephesians 6:7 NLT

Why?

God wants us to be transformed from the inside out, giving you the strength, joy, and peace that you need. In short: He wants you to show Him your trust by joyfully taking care of the tasks of the day—simply because you love Him 🥰 And He wants to show you His love by giving you unexpected strength, joy, peace—and perhaps even new tasks—from the inside out. Will you show Him your trust today through your joy in the tasks ahead, friend? 🤔

You are a miracle!
