Today, YOU have the protection of the Almighty God

Publication date Jan 31, 2025

Hello, my friend, thanks for being with me in this moment of encouragement from Jesus!

Laurel and I love to end every single day with prayer. In the evening, before we lay our heads on our pillows and go to sleep in the sweet rest that Jesus offers us, we claim God’s promise of protection.

Each night, we intentionally take the time to pray over ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren as an extension of our love. Every day, our prayers are for the protection of our family. We pray for protection over them spiritually, physically, emotionally, and relationally. We want God’s security for them—in the name of Jesus!

Our prayer sounds something like this: “Father God, over our children we pray the blood of Jesus right now. God, cover their homes and their rest. Guide their conversations and help them look to You in every situation. God, we thank you that You have sent powerful angels to walk the perimeters of their home, and we claim the protection that Jesus offers to us and them. Amen.

There's beauty and confidence in knowing that God and His angels are watching over His children and that we have a promise of divine protection that will look after and cover every single area of our life.

friend, you have the protection of Almighty God available to you right now! The question is, will you stay under the promised covering, or will you try and trust yourself to protect your own life and the way that you are living?

King David spent time both under the covering of God’s protection as well as some time out from under God’s protection when he took the matters of his life into his own hands. Listen to him in the moment when he knew, he needed God’s protection more than ever:

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” (Psalms 46:1-11 NIV)

I love these promises of help, refuge, strength, protection, and presence! David learned that staying under God’s protection was a choice he needed to make. We need to make that choice too! And how do we do that? We obey.

friend, if you need God’s protection today—ask Him! He will come through for you! And if you are doing well today, you have been protected—thank Him!!!

Never forget my friend...

You are a miracle!
