What Are You Afraid Of, friend?

The Bible says: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18 NIV)

Okay, now you may be thinking, "Great, this big decision I'm facing has to do with my job, for example. There is little love there. I'm not going to be able to drive my problem away with love, because the people there have little love for me." 

I understand, friend. I know...

That's why it always makes sense to also read the lines before and after such a verse. Verse 16 says: "...God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." (1 John 4:16 NIV) 

And in the following verse: “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19 NIV) 

God is love. When this love—God—fills you completely, HE casts out the fear you may be experiencing. That means that HE—Love—changes YOU FROM WITHIN by driving out the fear within you, thereby giving you the strength to face the day and the challenges that lie ahead.

You just have to go to him…and he will go with you!
