What is Your Heart Crying Out?
How are your Christmas celebrations going? Could it be that, despite having your family around the table, you felt lonely? Perhaps the day wasn't what you envisioned. Maybe a beloved person was missing from the table, someone who was always there before.
So often, after a successful performance with thunderous applause, I used to find myself in my hotel room, crying...because I felt so lonely.
But I want to share a thought with you that completely changed my life in this regard: Loneliness is your heart's cry, wishing for you to unite with God!
While you may think that the closeness of people is what you're missing, your heart, through loneliness, is giving you the crucial signal: "I long for my Creator, the 'heartbeat-giver' of my life!"
For the One who came to us as a baby! He is the only one who can take away this recurring loneliness and exchange it for a fulfilled life:
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NLT)
So, if you understand that loneliness is simply a signal that your heart is seeking a connection with God, then you also grasp the true gift you received at Christmas:
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10 NIV)
friend, just as He loved you before you loved Him, He can see you before you see Him! Will you accept this personal gift and quiet the cry of your heart by building a relationship with this baby, the Savior of your world?
Let Him hear from you now!
You are a miracle!
