Who touched me?
"And I, as a father, am powerless."
The words of this very successful businessman who had just given an incredible speech slammed into my heart.
After this very intense day, as I happily sipped my soup, I said, laughing: "You might have a hard time believing that I used to be anorexic and didn't feel like living anymore."
At that moment, this man, who had been performing professionally all day, slumped. "Both my daughters are anorexic and there is nothing I can do as a father."
friend, I was immediately transported back to my own history. At the time, my father did not have the visible “financial footing” that this successful man had. My father had an anchor that was invisible but all the more real.
Many people have some kind of support. But you need an anchor that really holds you. That's why this question is so important to me today: Do you have an anchor that really holds you, friend?
friend, we read about the woman from the Bible who had been suffering from profuse bleeding for 12 years: “And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.” (Luke 8:43 NIV)
But her mainstay wasn't medicine. Her hope was Jesus, and because of this: “She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped." (Luke 8:44 NIV)
“Who touched me?’Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, ‘Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.’” (Luke 8:45 NIV) “But Jesus said, ‘Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.’ “(Luke 8:46 NIV)
friend, I want to remind you through this story today, that if you have given up, you don't have to give up yet! Because this power that emanates from Jesus when you touch Him is the power that can make a miracle out of your wound!
friend, you can be confident! You don't have to flounder when Jesus is your hope and your anchor! You are not powerless because Jesus is the power Who will take you through.
“Touch Him” today by connecting with Him in prayer!
You are a miracle!
