Why Are You Breathing?
Tell me, friend, what did you get up for this morning? What moves you, and what actually drives you?
If you're having a good run career-wise, that will probably motivate you. But if you're going through a time of illness, pain, or grief, you'll have a hard time starting the morning with a smile on your face.
And yet, in spite of or because of that, I want to ask you something: where are you RIGHT NOW? Stretch. Be aware of your body. Breathe deeply in and out. All of these are evidence of God's presence. Yes, exactly. You just have to be aware of them.
"God did this so that they [we] would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being." (Acts 17:27-28, NIV)
Everything you do and everything you are is a gift from God. Therefore, you can trust Him on a bad day just as much as on a good day. In good times as in bad times, He wants to show you His love.
friend, God has not forgotten you. Quite the opposite. Maybe He wants to use this situation—good or bad—to show you how close He can be to you. He is near to you right now. Perceive Him consciously with every breath. God is the One who puts His very breath into your lungs. It is a gift of God.
friend, let's praise God today and tell Him, "I believe in You, with every breath I take!"
You're a miracle!
