Would you like to know the future?

Publication date Feb 28, 2021

Would you like to know the future? If you knew the future, you could make better decisions, investments, and choices in relationships. The Bible says Peter made a truckload of mistakes, but his knowledge of prophecy helped him rebound: “‘These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”’” (Acts 2:15-17, NIV)

It seems almost inconceivable to put myself in Peter’s sandals. He denied Christ three times but came back with the forgiveness and love of God. Do you remember his first encounter with Christ after the resurrection? It’s so powerful and emotional: “When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ he said, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs.’” (John 21:15, NIV) The love of Jesus drew him back, and Peter became the leader he was always designed to be.

friend, the love of Jesus is drawing you today. He’s drawing you out of fear, anxiety, and depression. He draws you because He loves you.

I love the strength and courage that Peter showed on the day of Pentecost. John could have stepped up, James could have done a good job—but it was Peter who braved a massive crowd of Jews with these words: “‘These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel’” (Acts 2:15-16, NIV). The chaotic scene must have looked hilarious to the crowd, but Peter knew it was a prophetic sign. His knowledge of biblical prophecy gave him the courage to stand up and speak the truth.

friend, the prophecies in the Bible are still very real. There is a judgment seat coming. Jesus is coming to get His believers. There will be a time of substantial tribulation, but Jesus said, “‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’” (John 16:33, NKJV)

I believe it’s time to be wise like the sons of Issachar. The Bible says, “from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;” (1 Chronicles 12:32, NIV).

friend, study the Word. Know the times and seasons so you will prosper and be blessed in the days to come.

Because you are a miracle.
