You May Not Need God's Speeches
"Déborah, I am reading your book, Stronger than Ever, and that is why I am writing to you. I too am in a relationship with a very narcissistic man from whom I suffer greatly, and am now wondering if I should marry him..."
I know, friend, from the outside, such a message—and I honestly receive similar messages often—looks strange. After all, it's obvious that this relationship, as it is now, doesn't have much of a future.
But when you are in the middle of it, you don't see that. I speak from my own experience. So how are you going to give a person the right answer to their question, one that this person who is longing for love understands?
Because of the understanding I’ve gained through my experience, I usually ask, "Can you live the mission that God has given you for your life in this relationship IN ALL FREEDOM and IN ALL UNITY with your partner?"
This question opens their eyes, because you know, friend, God sometimes doesn't even need to talk, because often we can see the answer ahead of time! All we have to do is think logically and be aware of God’s principles through His Word.
For example, you may use your shampoo every day, and you know it will eventually run out. You can wait for the bottle to be empty and then get angry, or you can act preemptively and buy another bottle before that happens.
In the same way, you have to think ahead in your relationship. Will you still have enough faith for your job tomorrow? Enough self-confidence? Enough joy? Or is what's happening in your life something that's tapping into that very thing on a daily basis, and at some point your store of faith will be empty?
Remember, friend, you are valuable! God wants to give you out of His abundance, but for that you must also go to Him in time. Don't let your divine relationship be taken away by a human relationship!
"The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them." (Isaiah 55:7 NET).
“...I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 RSV)
friend, from my heart: think ahead and let God speak into your heart, even without words.
Thank you for you!
You are a miracle!
