Don't let yourself be cornered.
"Just a moment before you start. Please do not talk about your faith."
Excuse me? Five minutes before my speaking time was about to start, the principal pulled me aside to tell me these words. But I was invited to this school to share my story, right?
How was I supposed to tell about how I found freedom from my eating disorders without mentioning the WONDERful night when I heard my parents pray...
Internally, I was quite desperate, but I didn't let it show and instead prayed, also internally: "Lord, please give me the right words nonetheless. I have no idea what to say! Help me!"
You can be internally desperate—and internally cry out to God at the same time!
So I told my story and reluctantly skipped the most important part. But before I could finish my presentation, one of the students asked me: "I saw an interview on the internet where you said that prayer healed you. Do you still pray today?"
That was my cue! I had to answer that and now had the opportunity to openly and with a clear conscience tell the truth that set me free!
friend, don't be afraid when you find yourself in tight situations. When you feel like everything is going wrong and you can't get out of this situation! When people externally corner you, then let yourself be internally guided by God's voice!
"Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you... I am giving you my words to speak and authority." (Jeremiah 1:8-10 NIV)
You are a miracle!
