You should definitely read this today…

“Jesus, can I just finish this quickly and then have my quiet time?”

I heard myself asking this question and immediately thought, “What a strange question.”

I had sat at the table where I’ve been reading my Bible in the mornings lately—though I often work there too—and my subconscious must have gotten a bit mixed up. Because, as usual, I had urgent things to take care of.

I chose to spend time with Him—simply because I’ve come to know that nothing can be so urgent or important as the assurance of being close to God. And when I opened my devotional book, I immediately came across this verse:

“So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” (Isaiah 30:18 NLT

“Exactly what I needed today!” I thought excitedly! friend, here’s a little reminder: With God, you’ll ALWAYS find what you’re looking for—if you seek it in Him.

Every day, it’s a decision made in a split second. Even your subconscious will often lead you astray—that’s why you have to consciously choose what’s right!

And as you choose to spend time with Him, He will accompany you through the day with His abilities: His help, His love, His wisdom, His protection, and so much more.

Later in the same chapter, it says: “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go,’ whether to the right or to the left.’” (Isaiah 30:21 NLT

friend, you need this just as much as I do. So let’s be more intentional than ever about setting aside time to spend with God—the One who has so much good to say to us! The One who wants to help us! May I repeat that verse, friend? Because it encouraged me so much—and it surely will encourage you too:

“So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” (Isaiah 30:18 NLT

You are a miracle!
