You should really do this

Publication date Nov 13, 2024

If you know me at all, you’ll know that I love working out on the treadmill. But if I’m honest, I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like. So, there are different phases.

When I’m fully in training, it’s easy for me to work out almost every day for long periods. But when I’m less focused on it or just generally tired, my workouts look very different.

Then, I run much slower and for shorter periods. Sometimes, I don’t feel like doing it at all, but I keep going anyway—even if that just means walking on the treadmill.

In the same way, friend, you should keep moving forward, even if it feels like nothing’s working in your life. Even if you find yourself lying on the couch after work, thinking, “This isn’t how I imagined my life would be.”

Can I reassure you, friend? Even I come back from some of the most amazing performances and have those thoughts! If I could look into your mind right now, I’d probably see you thinking, “Are you crazy, Déborah? Why would YOU think that?”

It’s simple. It’s written in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal…” (John 10:10 NLT). The thief always wants to rob us of our next step, so he doesn’t want us to keep moving forward.

friend, please be very aware of this: Your next step will look different from mine, but if you want to take your next step with God, the thief will never be okay with that. That’s why you’re having these thoughts!

That’s why I’m encouraging you today: Keep going! Because no matter how slow or fast you go, you’re still moving forward!

Shall we make a battle cry together in Paul’s words, friend?

“I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should…” (1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NLT

Keep going, friend! In Jesus’ name and in His strength: Amen!

You are a miracle!
