There’s another reason why you might be getting “little” out of reading God’s Word, friend...

Could it be that you’re picking and choosing the good parts and leaving the rest?

Let’s be honest. When we open the Bible, we want it to encourage us. Aaaaand… there are actually other reasons why God wants us to read His Word:

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

Uh, that sounds a bit different. God really wants to work on us!

For example, in the Bible, you’ll find that He desires you to love that one person who is really getting on your nerves right now, friend. Would you think about that if you weren’t reading the Bible? Probably not. 😉 You’d push it aside—and trust me, I know that feeling all too well.

We will only learn God’s desires when we open the Bible! 📖

And here’s one of those desires: “...If we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:12 NIV

What a verse! Not only do we learn that God wants us to love one another, but that it’s His ultimate goal to show His unbelievable love to others through us. 😮

It won’t be enough to read the Bible just for you alone, because God wants to do much more through you and make His love shown!Yes, when we’re willing to take the challenging passages of the Bible seriously, we will understand the depth of His Word—and even experience a true transformation of our character!

💭 Ask yourself today: “Why am I opening the Bible? Do I just want to be encouraged, or am I also willing to let myself be changed?”

You are a miracle!
