Coming alongside
May the God of all power and peace share His heart with you today as we seek to share His love with our world.
I was stunned and saddened to read the words of a brother, John, who requested help in paying for an A Miracle Every Day Audio Guide:
“I am a Ugandan, in East Africa. I'm a born-again Christian. Currently I don't have a job and it's been four years now since COVID time. During COVID, it was an election period for us here in Uganda. I resigned from work and joined politics, trying to pursue my dream and call to save and serve my people. I stood for the position of member of parliament but it was not all that well for me. There was a lot of vote rigging and for some of us who had the fear of the Lord, we suffered. So after that, it became difficult for me to get a job since most places fear employing politicians. So, generally, life is not easy for me; I have a large family of eight children still at school. I need your prayers so that God can open doors for me, for fees and a job.”
And a word from Heather:
“I am a widowed mother of two teenagers living on Social Security. Right now, I'm recovering from a concussion so I've been unable to find extra work. Money has been a struggle these past few months and I just recently turned my life back over to God and started going to church again. I'm eager to learn more! My 16-year-old daughter just recently accepted Christ. I have so much to be thankful for and I know these struggles will pass. Prayers are much appreciated!”

friend, these stories always touch my heart and remind me that each of us will encounter difficult seasons and, in those moments, how grateful are we when someone lends a helping hand??!!
With just this Audio Guide, we had over 500 requests for the free resource. What a joy to know that because of someone’s generosity and support, people who need a “hand up,” not a “hand out,” were able to enjoy the power of God through the written words of Jesus and His inspiration to the writers of A Miracle Every Day.
The example of Jesus is SO powerful. In a moment when the Bible says Jesus showed His followers the full extent of His love, we see Him speak to our hearts:
John 13:14-17 says:
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” (John 13:14-17, NIV)
What is waiting for us on the other side of “paying it forward”?
