Do you ever think life would have been easier if you had grown up in a different family?

Recently, I got to drive a different car—my friend loaned me his, so I was driving with a Swiss license plate instead of a German one. When I had to fill up the gas, a funny thought crossed my mind: “Oh, I have to fill up with the Swiss car in Switzerland.”

But as you know, that’s not true at all. You can fill it up anywhere!

And it’s the same with your life! You might wish you had a different “license plate” in your life. You’d rather not be marked by the pain of your family or your past, and you’d much prefer to be like everyone else.

So, my advice to you today: Stop filling up at the place where you’ve been hurt! Because you can—just like everyone else—fill up where you’ll be set free! Because Jesus’ offer is for everyone, including you:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, NIV)
