“So who is truly rich now?”

“Aww, how sweet, you Christians!”That smile, somewhere between “I like you” and “you really have no idea,” was honestly hurtful. A man sat down with my parents and me because he liked what he saw. We had ordered a rosé here by the sea in southern France, laughing happily together. As he passed by, we invited him to join us for a glass.
But when he realized that these “happy people” were Christians, the conversation changed. He puffed himself up in front of us when he heard that we live to tell people about Jesus Christ, the one true hope.
“Well, I work in medicine and have it made!” he boasted. All that was missing was the line: “While you all have to hope you can financially cover your next event.” Meanwhile, he ordered another rosé, five times more expensive than ours (maybe to annoy us, I thought later).
But the point is, friend: When you are 100% certain of your hope, then your current lack—which isn’t even a lack— won’t bother you (see 1 Corinthians 1:5, NIV).
On the contrary!
“The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’” (1 Corinthians 1:18-19, NIV)
So, who is truly rich now?
friend, don’t be intimidated when people seem more successful and even look down on you. Because, “God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9, NIV)
Let people talk… let them be more successful, let them even laugh at you… but you, friend, keep the peace and the faith, because unfortunately, the saying is true: “He who laughs last…”😀
And that’s why we meet every person with love and care, so through us, true hope is there!
You are worth so much, friend!
You are a miracle!
