friend, don’t stop - keep walking!
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the rock and strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (the Bible, Psalm 73:26, AMP)
So many things can make you want to quit everything, cause you to believe that there’s no longer any hope: grief, fatigue, health problems, conflicts and clashes, the ripple effects of the coronavirus, the numerous other daily challenges we have to face...
Did you know that in the Word of God, there are many examples of men and women who have gone through a desire to just stop and throw it all out the window? If you’ve ever been there, you’re not alone!
One example is Elijah, the renowned prophet of God! One day, after he received a death threat from the evil Jezebel, he asked God to let him die. I invite you to read 1 Kings 19:2-8.
The secret is to not stop—to keep going, to persevere! The angel of God commanded Elijah to eat. And with the strength he received from this divine food, he rose up and began to walk again. And what a walk it was! 40 days and 40 nights until he came to the mountain of God.
How do you persevere until a breakthrough comes? It has been said, “Press through and you will see.” Moses is another example of a man of faith who had the opportunity, many times, to throw in the towel. Yet, the Word of God honors him for both his faith and his perseverance in Hebrews 11. The Scriptures tell us that “by faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11:27, NKJV) Other versions say he persevered, persisted, kept right on going! Moses’ life reveals an important key: What will help you persevere is seeing the One who is unseen...by faith! By constantly watching Jesus, even when everything around you makes you doubt Him and His intervention in your life. Jesus is moving in the unseen!
friend, I believe that you’re at the dawn of a breakthrough, a blessing, a special gift of God for your life. Don’t stop now! I exhort you, like Elijah and Moses did, to...
- Allow God to strengthen you,
- Keep walking, by faith!,
- Continue to fix your eyes on the Lord.
