Has Jesus pushed you?

Do you feel like Jesus has recently “pushed” you into something? I mean, in a positive way: Have you had the sense that He wanted you to take this specific path?
Maybe it was many years ago. A decision that affected your job, your marriage, your entire life. But today, you’re asking yourself if that was Jesus’ prompting—or just your own pushing? 🤔
The disciples may have wondered if Jesus had intentionally sent them ahead across the lake without Him to give them a break. Or maybe He just wanted to get rid of them?
“Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd.” (Matthew 14:22 NIV)
It was something like this: friend, “take this path, we’ll meet there later." That’s how I felt when Jesus “pushed” me to attend Bible school in Australia. But as soon as I arrived, I was heavily deceived and ended up with a massive deficit in my account, barely able to buy food…It wasn’t just difficult, it was a strong headwind that hit me. Everything was going AGAINST what Jesus had “pushed” me to do. Just like with the disciples:
“The boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.” (Matthew 14:24 NIV)
You surely know how that feels, friend. It’s like Jesus is letting you down…
But Jesus doesn’t let you down—He lets you discover something valuable! 💎
And you know what, friend? Jesus doesn’t need to stand right next to you to see you!“Why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31 NIV).
Every time I read this question from Jesus, I think about how I don’t want to be someone He asks this question to one day. I want to believe what Peter experienced: “When they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.” (Matthew 14:32 NIV)
friend, Peter WAS on the right path. Jesus only encouraged him to go ahead, but He would see him right there again and continue on with him! Maybe you’ve gone ahead, but don’t forget: Jesus is always with you—He will continue forward with you!
You are a miracle!
