Is God REALLY important to you TODAY?

Everyday life. We all know it. We’re all, in some way, caught up in it. It meets us again and again. It’s part of life. And we’re aware of that. Somehow, we just have to get through it.

And it was during that everyday rush, with all the appointments and the “I have to leave now or I’ll be late,” ⌚ that I quickly opened my book,  “A Prayer for Every Day” (only available in German). I opened it because I wanted to hear from God.

That day, I read a verse that completely pulled me out of my routine:

“The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.” (Psalm 14:2 NLT) https://www.bible.com/bible/111/psa.14.2 

The prayer on that page touched me deeply. I know that might sound odd, since I wrote the little book myself—but believe me, even I don’t see myself in it, but the handwriting of the Holy Spirit.

Let me share just a few lines of that prayer with you:

You’ve always wanted a relationship with us humans—and You gave everything for it. But today? Today, most people think of themselves first and foremost. Of their own advantage and what they can achieve in their own strength.And right now, I’m realizing that I often belong to “those people” too. I’m sorry, Jesus!

Give me a heart that truly understands what it’s all about.

That’s the line I couldn’t get past: “Give me a heart that truly understands what it’s all about.” ❤️ I kept repeating it again and again. And believe me, it’s a line that makes God smile.A line that honors Him. A line that lets God find what He’s searching for when He looks down on the earth, because:

“The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.” (Psalm 14:2 NLT)

Today I’m asking myself a really important question: “Is God—right now, in the middle of everyday life—REALLY the most important thing to you?” 🤔
