(Not) An answer from God

“My doctor has no idea what he’s doing,” I grumbled after being sick in bed for a whole week. 😤
I had gone to the clinic right when the flu started, hoping the doctor would give me something to speed up my recovery. But nothing changed—the symptoms were just as strong as on day one.
And maybe you have also made your way into God’s presence, hoping He would give you an answer to your problem. But aside from that feeling in the moment that He was there, nothing really changed:
“But Father, I have to get rid of this problem, otherwise I can’t keep serving You with this burden on my heart,” you say, disappointed. 😔
And what if God doesn’t actually want you to “keep going” right now but simply to “keep resting”?
Resting in the assurance that He is God—and not you. Resting in the assurance that He really, like R-E-A-L-L-Y, knows why He’s allowing this in your life right now. Resting in the assurance that He truly means well for you?
In the book of Acts, Paul tries to draw our attention to this. He says about God: “And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else...” (Acts 17:25 NIV)
What do we learn here? God gives you everything you need to live. Period. 🤩
It goes on: “...and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” (Acts 17:26 NIV) And absolutely everything that will happen between your birth and your death. Wow!
These two verses show us that God doesn’t actually need us. Well, thanks for that. 🤪 But then it continues right away: “All this was so that people would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’” (Acts 17:27–28 NIV)
God always gives you what you need. Even no answer is His answer. If God is being quiet right now, maybe it’s because you should be quiet too. Just be still. Just be. Yes, just be His child. A child who trusts Him.
You are a miracle!
