Make Jesus your Lord
We are starting a new year together. Isn’t that incredible? I hope and pray these emails are encouraging you. We also have a prayer team that’s available to join with you in prayer in 2022.
Some people think prayer should be used only in times of crisis, kind of like those fire alarms in the hallways of large buildings. No one would ever pull one of those little levers and unleash a deafening sound without cause—or would they? An exception, of course, was in my school as a child. I’m not sure why this happened so often, but it’s a vivid memory.
friend, in many ways, prayer should not be used like a fire alarm that is only pulled in times of emergency. In 2022, prayer should become a daily habit through which we worship God, ask for forgiveness, read His Word, and seek His wisdom. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5, NKJV) We all lack wisdom at times, but 2022 is a new opportunity for us to hear from our Savior and make sure that He is truly our Lord.
Someone once said that “Jesus must be Lord of all or not Lord at all.” I believe this with all my heart. I did a little research tonight and discovered that the term “Lord of all” is used over 740 times in the Bible. Wow! As we start this new year, please make a divine shift in your career, finances, and daily life by making Jesus your Lord of all.
The Bible gives a significant promise about the Lord Jesus Christ: “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV) Jesus wants to be your Lord, not just your Savior.
At the age of 22, I accepted Christ as my Savior. He forgave my sins, healed my emotional pain, and straightened out my relationships, but I noticed a serious dilemma: Jesus wanted more from me. He wanted to be the Lord and Master of my life. Everything that I had was His, even my talents and future. Carrie Underwood sang a song in 2005 that rocked the world: “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” In my mind, there is no better anthem to the lordship of Jesus Christ than this song.
Please take this bold step of surrender this year. Make Christ your Lord of all because He is a miracle and you can trust Him.
